Gaul, Pais Invited to Chicago Fire Training Camp

CHICAGO, Ill. – Recent Saint Louis FC signings Bryan Gaul and Mark Pais will be taking part in the Chicago Fire’s 2015 Preseason Training Camp, beginning Monday, Jan. 26.

“This is a great way for Bryan and Mark to kick off the 2015 season,” STL FC General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh said.  “Getting the opportunity to train with the Fire will allow both players to come into our camp sharp and ready for the challenges of the upcoming USL PRO season.”

Gaul, 25, arrives at STL FC with three years of professional experience.  The 6 foot, 5 inch forward was selected in the first round of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft by the Los Angeles Galaxy, and spent three seasons with LA.

Pais, 23, is a St. Louis native who impressed as a goalkeeper at Saint Louis University and the University of Tulsa. He recorded eight shutouts in his senior season at Tulsa, and was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2012.

Last week, STL FC and the Chicago Fire announced their long-awaited partnership agreement for the 2015 season.

Both Alumbaugh and STL FC Head Coach Dale Schilly will be in attendance throughout the Fire’s training camp next week.
