Saint Louis FC Returning Player Announcement

 

St. Louis, MO (November 9, 2016) Saint Louis FC has exercised contract options on the defender, AJ Cochran, and midfielders Seth Rudolph and Tyler David for the 2017 season, pending USL and the United States Soccer Federation approval.

 
AJ Cochran is a St. Louis native who played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin where he scored three goals and was selected as 2013 Big Ten Defender of the Year. He was selected 16th in 2014 MLS SuperDraft by the Houston Dynamo where he made 26 appearances for the club. He finished his first season with Saint Louis FC with 2430 minutes played and two assists.  Cochran was the stalwart of the back line for Saint Louis FC in 2016. 

 
Seth Rudolph finishes his first season with STLFC with 348 minutes played and 2 goals. Before joining STLFC, Rudolph played for Swedish team Sandvikens IF and scored eight goals in 33 appearances. Rudolph played collegiately at George Washington University and scored 29 goals in 70 appearances.

 
Tyler David will also return in 2017 after his rookie season with the club.  He accumulated 837 minutes in 22 matches with one goal and one assist. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, David played collegiately at Saint Louis University and appeared in 79 matches during his four years.


Players already under contract for the 2017 season are midfielder Chad Bond and forward Irvin Herrera.

 
Saint Louis FC will not exercise options on the following players:
Mark Pais, Ryan Thompson, Parker Maher, Sam Fink, Richard Dixon, Jake Bond, Jermie Lynch, Mitch Lurie, James Musa.

 
The following players are currently out of contract:  
Eduardo Cortes, Jamiel Hardware, Kentaro Takada, Charles Renken, Mike Ambersley, Jacob Bushue, Vince Cicciarelli, Chad Vandegriffe, Jordan Roberts, Sean Clancy, Brandon Barklage.

He continued, "Since the announcement of Preki, he and I have been active in identifying players for the 2017 season.  This includes a handful of out-of-contract players from the 2016 season, and we expect to make announcements [regarding new players] in the coming weeks.
