St. Louis, MO – Saint Louis FC will play the first game of the 2017 USL Season away at Louisville City FC on Saturday, March 25 at 1:00 p.m. CT.
Saint Louis FC returns to the Eastern Conference and is bolstered by the hiring of 2014 USL Head Coach of the Year, Predrag (Preki) Radosavljevic. Expectations are high going into the 2017 season with a revamped roster that sees only four players returning from the previous season. Among the new signings are five players that have USL Championship experience including goalkeeper Adam Grinwis, defender Konrad Plewa, midfielders Octavio Guzman and Ivan Mirkovic, and forward Christian Volesky.
Louisville City FC has reached the USL Eastern Conference Finals in the past two seasons and sees the return of 13 players from last season's squad. The club recently announced the contract extension of Head Coach James O'Connor to the 2020 season and looks to build on their past success.
A rivalry that began in 2015 and dubbed "The King's Cup" by both supporters' groups, the series was won by Louisville City last year with a 2-0 victory at home and 5-1 win away to end the season for Saint Louis FC.
