STLFC's Christian Volesky Named USL Player of the Week

St. Louis, MO – Saint Louis FC forward Christian Volesky has been named USL Player of the Week for his performance against Ottawa Fury FC last Saturday night.

 

Volesky scored the opening goal and set-up the other two as Saint Louis FC defeated Ottawa 3-2 in a thrilling home opener at Toyota Stadium. STLFC started on the match on the front foot and were on the scoresheet in the 5th minute after Volesky rounded his defender and calmly finished over the Ottawa goalkeeper. STLFC quickly doubled their lead with Volesky turning provider as his wide pass found Mats Bjurman and his shot finished in the bottom left corner. Volesky also had a hand in the final goal after his bursting run was finished by Max Alvarez and credited as an own goal by Ottawa defender Sergio Manesio.
