Saint Louis Football Club has reached an agreement with local radio station KTRS (550 AM) to provide live radio broadcasts of STL FC home games for the 2015 season.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to work with KTRS next season,” Saint Louis FC Executive Director Patrick Barry said. “KTRS has been a well-respected member of the St. Louis media landscape for years, and they will provide great coverage of our club both on and off the field in the years to come.”
Bill McDermott will serve as the “voice” of Saint Louis FC home game broadcasts. His partner is still to be determined.
In addition to live coverage of home games, KTRS and Saint Louis FC will co-produce a weekly soccer show on Tuesday evenings. The show will cover all the latest news surrounding St. Louis soccer at the high school, college, and professional levels.
During the 2015 season, KTRS will host a weekly coach’s show for Saint Louis FC as well.
“This partnership with Saint Louis FC gives us the chance to showcase soccer in the St. Louis area,” KTRS General Manager Mark Dorsey said. “It’s no secret that this city has a rich soccer history, and it’s important for us to give it the coverage it deserves.”
Off the field, KTRS and Saint Louis FC will announce numerous community initiatives to benefit the greater St. Louis area.
“The agreement with KTRS not only aims to benefit the two parties involved; it also intends to serve the St. Louis soccer community as a whole,” General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh said. “We want to be an asset to the greater St. Louis area in as many ways as possible, and this relationship with KTRS will certainly help us reach that goal.”
