ST. LOUIS, Mo. – USL PRO has announced the league’s 2015 regular season schedule in its entirety, including the 28-game schedule for Saint Louis FC.
“When we joined this league, we knew that our schedule would provide us with challenges in every one of our games,” Head Coach Dale Schilly said. “The schedule is demanding, but we’re ready for the challenge.”
Saint Louis FC will open its inaugural 2015 season on the road against regional rival and fellow expansion franchise, Louisville City FC. The match is set for March 28 at Louisville Slugger Field.
STL FC will play Louisville four times throughout the regular season, with three of those matches taking place among Saint Louis FC’s first nine games. The fourth and final match between the two sides will be the teams’ regular season finale, scheduled for September 19 at the Soccer Park.
“We’re excited to start and finish the season against Louisville, another expansion franchise that should be very competitive,” Schilly said. “There’s no doubt that our players and fans will be up for those four matches.”
After opening the season in Louisville, STL FC will head west for a road game against the Tulsa Roughnecks April 2.
The match against Tulsa is the first of four games against USL PRO Western Conference opponents. STL FC will also face Oklahoma City Energy FC April 25 and July 25, as well as the Colorado Springs Switchbacks June 19.
The club will hold its home opener against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on April 11 at the Soccer Park.
STL FC will play 14 league games at home, including home games in eight of the club’s first 13 matches. Nine of the team’s final 15 games will be on the road.
“It’s going to be important for us to start fast in the first half of the season,” Schilly added. “With the amount of road games we have down the stretch, there won’t be much room for error.”
