Saturday was the first match in the newly restored World Wide Technology Soccer Park, after a flood during the offseason devastated the park.  Fans showed their support for Saint Louis FC with a crowd of 5,531.

Saint Louis FC will match up against Tulsa Roughneck FC three more times this season, with the next installment set to take place on Saturday, May 21 in Tulsa.

The Opponent:

This is the first time Saint Louis FC meets Sacramento Republic FC.  Sacramento entered the USL in 2014 and promptly finished the regular season in 2nd place with a 17-7-4 record, and won the USL Pro Championship.  Last year, they finished 4th in the USL Western Conference before exiting in the first round of the playoffs to eventual Western Conference champion, LA Galaxy II.

Sacramento Republic FC has begun its season with a 2-1-1 record with wins against Seattle Sounders FC 2 and Arizona United FC.

Sacramento is coming off a 1-0 loss against Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday.  Forward Adam Jahn was ejected from the match after a collision with the goalkeeper that the official declared malicious.  With 10 players on the field, Sacramento was unable to find the goal.

Sell Out Streak:

Soccer's popularity has been erupting all across the United States, and Saint Louis FC and Sacramento Republic FC have been leading the charge.  Both teams played in front of sold out stadiums during their home opener.  Saint Louis FC has sold out six of the last eight home games.  Sacramento's 11,500 capacity stadium is on a sellout streak of 31 games in USL regular season and playoffs, reflecting the city's strong support for its team.
