ST. LOUIS - At 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 the gates at World Wide Technology Soccer Park will reopen to the fans and supporters of Saint Louis Football Club. It will be the first game hosted at the facility since the inaugural 2015 season drew to a close on September 19. Between September 2015 and April 2016, the Soccer Park was affected by record breaking flooding from the Meramec River in late December and early January.
Following extensive damage and tremendous support from the St. Louis community, the Soccer Park has not only been restored but it has improved. With three new turf fields, including the stadium field, updated amenities, and improved seating, the Soccer Park is ready to return to form and hold rowdy and energetic crowds.
"After a challenging off-season that included the worst flood in recorded history, we are excited to open the doors to a sold-out crowd and get back to business. With help from a tremendous amount of great people, the World Wide Technology Soccer Park is better than ever and ready to host the first Saint Louis FC match of the 2016 season." said Patrick Barry, Executive Director. "I am incredibly proud of the entire staff - and community at large - for pushing our organization and our facility to bounce back so quickly and with such conviction."
