FENTON, MO (June 23, 2016) – Saint Louis FC (5-5-4) will host Portland Timbers 2 (5-8-2) in front of a sell-out crowd at World Wide Technology Soccer Park on Saturday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m. The match will be the first time the two clubs meet in franchise history. The Portland Timbers 2 are the USL affiliate of the reigning MLS champions, the Portland Timbers.

STLFC will head into the match looking to continue their home winning streak after they defeated Tulsa 7-1 last time they were at Soccer Park. They have a (3-1-3) record at home. In their most recent match, they traveled to Arizona United SC where they suffered a tough 2-1 loss. Jordan Roberts scored the only goal for STL FC in added time.

Portland Timbers 2 is coming to Saint Louis after a 1-0 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. The Timbers haven't won a game since June 4th against Swope Park Rangers, and will be looking to seize a win this weekend. The team is (2-1-4) in away games.

Only two teams separate STLFC and the Timbers on the USL standings. Saint Louis sits at 6th with 19 points while Portland is 9th with 17 points. Both teams are full with young talent and have been improving throughout the season. An early goal will be key in this game.
