Late goal from Fink draws STL FC level for a point against Seattle Sounders 2

A crowd of 4,440 watched Wednesday night's game against Seattle Sounders 2 end in a frustrating draw for the Saint Louis FC squad. Seattle led most of the game, until Sam Fink scored an equalizer late in the second half.

Coach Dale Schilly felt the fans frustration. "I felt like the effort and the performance was unacceptable. It's not good enough, it's not professional enough, it's not what we as a staff and players expect from ourselves."

Seattle Sounders 2 took the first goal of the match in the 12th minute. Saint Louis Scott Gallagher alum and Mehlville graduate, Emir Alihodzic, found the back of the net after miscommunication with Ryan Thompson and his defensive line after he moved out of his penalty area to clear a long ball.

Saint Louis FC gained momentum towards the end of the half, with a chance where Tshuma found Herrera after getting in space down the right, but his header went high and wide.
The second half proved to be better for the home side. Saint Louis held possession for the majority of the half, with a few chances, nothing connecting.

In the 86th minute James Musa's long-throw in to AJ Cochran who flicked the ball to Sam Fink for a header. The ball found the back of the net, drawing the match level.

STL FC team captain, Chad Bond, was disappointed in the outcome of the game.  "We definitely saw this game as a three point game, especially with the way we have been playing at home lately. We started slow and didn't get going in the first half. We did well in the second half, but we just didn't take enough chances. If you don't take chances in games you're never going to win."
